I’m hibernating a little this winter working on some tracks, a couple of new mixes as well as a brand new Turntables In Technicolor audio/visual DJ show for 2012. I’ll be making a few video diaries to give you a little insight into the whole process, today i’ve been recording some scratches for a new mix so i filmed a bit with my iphone. Finished mix will be available for free before Christmas.

DJ Woody showcases US DMC DJ Finals in New York

We’ll that Anne Hathaway video went crazy! 27000+ views in 1 week, blogged and tweeted Worldwide by the likes of BBC News, NME and even Glamour Magazine. Even Scott Mills on Radio One kept going on about it!

In other news though, last month i became the only ever European solo DJ invited to showcase a US DMC Finals, a very proud moment and great to take my ‘Turntables In Technicolor’ show to the birthplace of the scratch DJ, New York City.

Big up all at DMC USA NATIONAL DJ BATTLES DMC World DJ Championships and special thanks to Rane Corp. and Serato H.Q. for flying me out to perform my Turntables In Technicolor showcase in New York at the 2011 USA DMC Finals. The set went down brilliantly, the crowd were great as were New York’s own DJ Shiftee (as always), San Francisco’s Mista B and Donnie Dee. The event was hosted by non other than Lord Finesse who did a great job and many a New York hip hop legend was in the building including Rob Swift, DJ Cheeze, Jo Conzo, Jazzy Jay, the list goes on…
It was a dope battle too, best US final in years infact, results were 1/Vajra 2/I-Dee 3/Precision, for the record i judged it as 1/ Vajra 2/Immortal 3/I-Dee. Big up the rest of the competitors some really good sets, it was very hard to judge!

So thanks to DMC World DJ Championships and TTM 57 SL by Rane and Serato i just landed in New York, yep proud to announce that ‘Turntables In Technicolor’ repping hard for the UK!!! I’ll be showcasing and judging the 2011 USA DMC Finals alongside DJ Shiftee, Lord Finesse and Mista B…. Aug. 6: 2011 DMC US Finals DJ Battle: Woody, Shiftee, Mista B, Lord Finesse. BIG I’m the first ever DJ from outside of the USA to ever be invited to perform a solo showcase at a US DMC finals!
